Here is the 3rd issued coin in the “Meteorite” series, the 2017 Mars – The Red Planet. Certified meteorites that have been designated to have originated from the planet Mars are very rare and expensive. These larger (65 mm) silver coins each have a small fragment insert of the Martian meteorite (NWA10441) making each of them unique. At the center of the coin is a glass window showing images of the Red Planet. In the window you can see many of the geological features of the Planet Mars, on the obverse side window you can see Mar’s Polar Ice cap. Picture #6 is a view of Mars showing the planets northern polar ice cap. Very limited mintage to only 333 worldwide. Actual photos (# 1 – # 5) are of the coin for sale.
