An extremely special release, this sublime coin was created using a new 4-layer minting process allowing an unprecedented level of 3D depth to the design. As far as I can tell, this is the first coin release to use this special process. There are a couple of others that have been made in subsequent years showing other architectural wonders. Only 999 of these Temple of Heaven coins were ever minted and they are almost impossible to get hold of. The exquisite design, historic minting process, low mintage and unusually large 100 g size (3.2 oz) make this a genuine collectors piece, and it is a hard decision to actually sell this one. The coin appears to be perfect, and I doubt it has ever come out of its plastic case having previously been owned by a serious coin collector.
