This reconstruction occurred after Henry had helped to capture the town from Count Adolf II of Holstein. After this happened, Lubeck became one of the premier locations for trading along the cost and acted as a means of trading with towns over seas. These guilds were also referred to as Hansa. This is the reason that the Hanseatic League is something that so many different collectors and historians are always interested in learning more about this significant historical period.
